Can this stand hold my 20g tank?

I have the same stand in black for my 20g and in oak for the 10g and in oak for the 40 T. Only difference is that the inside left and right edges had an angled block of wood that extends about 1/2 inch above the stand which stops the tank from sliding off.

Yup it's from perfecto, the tank atleast, it even has the 5yr warrenty sticker on it still. I figure the tank is from them as well as it looks the same as the one on that website. Well, marineland is very respectable and I don't believe they make crap. I like the idea of those blocks to keep it from sliding off. Luckily I own a woodshop now so I could probably find a way to add some "anti-slide off" blocks about a 1/2 inch above the edges of the stand. And I have confidence now that it can handle the weight. Good idea, thanks!

They are nice stands made of real wood and they seem very sturdy. I was at first concerned with the 'anti slide blocks" cracking the bottom glass when filled, but the clearance apparantly leave a hair breadths between the bottom of the tank.

They have been discounting these at the local Pets Supermarkets here in FL as they move towards a completely different style. Cannot beat free though!!!

if anything would break when you fill it up, it would more than likely do so with time - the stand looks pretty darn sturdy anyway.

My biggest concern would be the downward pressure on the bottom glass. What I would do just for safe measure is to put a piece of 2x4 cut to fit inside, and alleviate and spread out some of the pressure.

Try filling it up with water without covering the bottom, and see how the glass reacts.

I'm just one of those I don't want to risk it type of guys.
