| Stocking suggestions I have several tanks and want to rearrange the fish to give them best homes possible.
I have a 40g T, 2 20g T's and a 10g
The 40g has:
6 black neons
7 neons
2 albino cories
2 otos
3 Von Rio
6 blue rams - 2 males and 4 females. 2 of the females will be rehomed after the rams pair off.
This tank is moderately planted
The 20g in the boys room has:
2 opaline gouramis about 3 inches long each
This tank is not and will not be planted.
The second 20 is empty, but I intend to keep it moderately planted.
The 10g has:
2 small cories, 3 zebra danios and 2 otos. T
his tank is lightly planted.
Is the 40 over stocked? Can the danios go in with the gouramis? Any other ideas? |

| This is my idea. You are most likely not going to be able to house two pair of Rams in a 40G tall tank. The foot print just doesnt allow them space to get away from each other.
40G Planted - Blue Ram Pair, 6 Black Neon Tetras, 7 Neon Tetras, 2 Otos
20G - 2 Opaline Gourami
20G Planted - Blue Ram Pair, 3 Von Rio Tetras (get two more)
10G Planted - 2 Sm Cories, 2 Otos, 3 Zebra Danios (get two more)

| The 40g is 3 ft long (36x12x20). I have 2 females for each male. Should I put 1 pair of rams in the 20 and leave the 3 other females in the 40 with a male? |

| Your signature says that you are planning on getting rid of some females once you have pairs. Im not sure that I would keep to pairs together. If it was just a group then sure but...not in that size tank.

| By getting rid (rehomed) I meant to put in another tank. Will the two albino cories be okay in the 40? If I need to, I would give away the gouramis and try to pair off another male or put the 2 single female rams in the 20 where the gouramis are now. The rams cost me $8 each, the gouramis were $1 each. If I can find another deal on a 20 w/stand for $40 like the last one I got at Pet Supermarket, I have space for it. I can find deals on 55's, but do not have space. |

| Yes the Cories should be fine. I like the idea of getting rid of the Gourami and putting the two female Rams into the other 20G. Rams are much prettier
