|  we don't have room for anything bigger than our 55. As a matter of fact, thinking of getting a 20 or 30 will mean my hubby sacrificing the top of his desk. Not that he is using it for much other than holding his model car stuff HA HA HA

| I seem to have a problem getting the PH level lowered. I have well water. I am using the Neutral Regulator, but the PH seems to stay at the 7.6 area. I treated two times and no difference. I looked it up, and seems that I need a buffer to add to the water first and then I can use the Regulator to hold it at 7.0. I hope I am doing this correct.

| 7.6 is where my ph hangs out at. I really don't think you should worry about the ph. It's more of a hassle than anything. Most fish are gonna survive just fine at 7.6 even if they are found in more acidic water. The main concern will be if you want to breed and then you might have to worry about ph as some eggs won't develop unless there's a certain ph. Keep this in mind-Fish prefer a STABLE ph more so than a specific number. It's hard to keep ph stable when you have to always try to change it. I've never tried to alter my ph. Also, as the water ages in the tank sometimes the ph will change just a little. When I first set up my tank it was at 7.8 and has now lowered just a little. Your's may do the same. So, really, just concentrate on getting that thang cycled so you get to the exciting part. Adding fish!

| In all the tanks I have run in the past, I have never worried about the PH levels and always did just fine. For some reason now that I am starting back up in the hobby, I am worried about the balance. I have not yet taken any test today for the balance. I am curious though to see if the level will go down any. I would much prefer not to have to add all the chemicals in the tank. I did order a 2.2 pound container of buffer yesterday, and expect it to come in maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. A little too late to cancel it, so I will go ahead and try using it to bring the level down and then I will try to control the level with the Neutral Regulator. If all this does not work, and the fish do fine, I will no longer worry about it. I would like to get it all correct before adding any fish into the tank, and minimizing any stress on the fish.
