Default tatras or tetras?

My trip has been delayed a couple days, so I think I'm going to get a few more fish today. Should I get black skirt tetras, neon tetras, or some sort of other fish for my 30g? Pictures or it are in the 'my30g' thread.

The tank has 2 rams, 5 guppies, 2 cories.

Personally, I'd get some more cories. Plus a couple otos.

Edit: It's not really a good idea to add fish or change things around in a tank just before you go away. Get them when you get back. If they die while you're away, they could wipe out the rest of the tank.

I think some more cories would be good. Three is the minimum number you should keep, but the more you have, the more fun they are

By the way, could you post a link to your 30g thread so people don't have to search for it?

30G thread
Too late. My only chance to get anything came before I could read your opinions. Anyway, I got 5 neons and 5 ghost shrimp. The shrimp were only 30 cents, so I just said what the heck and got a few, a couple of which were pregnant. Perhaps I will get more cories. But with 2 rams, 5 neons and 5 guppies, how many cories can I have?

I just got $2 worth of ghost shrimp to keep my cycled tank cycled until I get back. 15 ghost shrimp were $1.
They threw in a guppy fry... if he's a survivor, who knows what I'll do with it.

What type of cory do you have? How many you get, depends on how big they get... which on average is about 2 inches (unless you get the pygmy type cories! under an inch! they're so cool )

How big is your tank? Maybe I should get more before I leave. Only got 5. The cories are emeralds. When my guppies have fry, I'm hoping they'll feed the rams. But I also have to put some cheesecloth on the filter intakes so they don't get sucked up and rot in the filter.

Ghost shrimp are pretty awesome. But mine never lived for more that 6 months or so...
So is this list right?
30g
2 rams (? in)
5 guppies (5 in)
2 cories (4 in)
5 neons (5 in)
5 ghost shrimp (5 in)

I'd probably just get 2 more cories and then you're probably up to the limit of inches if that's the "rule of thumb" you're using.

Eventually I'll move the guppies out and I can fit more fish. The guppies are their for now to provide baby guppy snacks for the rams until the guppies get their own 10g.
