Default More Questions

I have some more questions (if you could imagine that). I'm thinking of eventually filling out the rest of my 26g tank with guppies. I have two emerald cories and three zebra danios. I would also like to get a sunset dwarf gourami as my centerpiece fish. I was thinking of getting three more danios and then nine guppies. At the LFS it said that the guppies would grow to 1.5 inches. Does it sound like that will be over crowding my tank?

I would suggest anything but guppies. If you start with two your tank will be over crowded in no time. That and the Sunset Gourami might consider their pretty colorful tails a threat and eat them off.

You could get a big school of zebras.

Oh, that's good to know. I saw these orange von rio flame tetras at the LFS, and they grow to 1.5 inches as well. What about those instead of the guppies?

in a 26 G I would just go with one type of schooling fish. If you get the tetras don't get the danios.

You're best off going with a school of 6+ of either and they'll be most intesting if they have the room to really school

So I could get about a dozen tetras, and just leave the three danios? If I don't get the tetras and just get some more danios, could I mix in some long finned ones, or would the gourami nip at them?

I ended up getting three harlequin rasboras. I think I will get a school of a dozen. Are my three danios going to be okay by themselves?
