Default Eclipse 5g Hex ideas

I currently have an eclipse 5g hex tank with a betta. I was wondering what else I could put in there since it is such a small tank. It does not have live plants, just plastic.

I also have green algae. What fish would you recommand for this tank that likes green algae?

If you want to keep the Betta I'd put about 4 little otos in there with him. They'll eat the algae and they're adorable.

I don't know about 4 otos in a tank tha small. They would never get enough to eat with just the algae in the tank.

After they eat all the algae you can put blanched zucchini and spinach leaves in there. Mine love it. I've never tried cucumber but I figure they would eat that too. And the good thing about having otos is that you don't have to worry about keeping light on too long.

Another suggestion to go with betta- ghost shrimp?

Either:

2-3 otos
2-3 ghost shrimp
2-3 pygmy cories (not sure how big they get)

Ummm, that's all I can't think of right now.

Edit: random thought, anyone ever have a crab in with a betta?

A mystery snail, and a cory cat would be a nice addition and add a bit of variety. That is what I gave my nephews when I got them a 5g hex, and all is well since November of 2007.

Just read up on whatever you get.
