| right. i went to lfs today. i could not get the interpet one but i got the king british fin rot and fungus control. i thought i'd give it a try considering i could not go to any other lfs for a while. it says not to use with other aquatic medicines but i did not want to do a 90% wc to get rid of melafix. it's ok at the moment. i just hope it works.

| it's the day after and im getting more worried by the minute. i recently did my as lvl french speaking exam which made me nervous but this is worse. she has got worse the past 2 days. im beginning to wonder if the treatment will work. i'll give it a few more days. i might have to buy the interpet one too if it continues to get worse.
Should i get it now anyway... just in case?
im just praying this stuff works. i didn't think i could get soo attatched to a fish. i was just too lucky to get her. it's too good to be true. i fear for the worst. i'll keep you all posted on the progress.
Thanks.

| Keep dosing until the end of the course of medicine. Hopefully, she'll start to show improvement. If you do decide to change the medications after you're finished with the one you have, do a water change and run some fresh carbon for a few hours before starting with the new medication. Do you know what the active ingredients are in the one you're using? |

| it's still not working she got worse. im gunna buy the other one anyway. i think my other pleco has caught it too. surely that can't be good. i will run the carbon if i see no improvements then change meds. ill try and get some pics. its coming out of quite a few of her scales and the blotches are bigger than before. i won't be buying king british ones again. maybe its something in my water that stops it from working. i have no idea.
It contains.... 2-phenoxyethanol 5.66% w/w then it says something like ManA 16576 underneath it... I dont know what that means.
Thanks Loads.

| right i got the interpet one. it says it has phenoxyethanol but its 40,000mg per 100mls i think it's a stronger dose. it has a better symptoms list and causes and treatments booklet too. i think i can trust it more. im using activated carbon to remove the treatments. should i take out my carbon pad thing in the filter? i think i need to. i'll replace it with some peat moss in a pair of tights. i'll double wrap it just in case. what should i seal it with? fishing line? or just roll it over?
Thanks.

| the medication i was using said to keep dosing till symptoms persist. so i assumed i should at least see a result of a slowed down growth rate...im not going to wait for her to die. and my other pleco for that matter. so i will use the one i know works.
Thanks.

| right. i used the carbon and removed them after 3-4 hours. including the pad in the filter. i replaced the filter one for the peat moss.(a small amount) then i let the tank settle for 20 mins. then i put in the treatment. all my fish's attitudes changed. my clown loach came out for the first time ever during the day. i thought something was wrong. it was... they were darting round and gasping for air at the top... i remembered then that i had to increase airflow (as it says on the tub) i did it immediately. then they were swimming round happily outside their cave and the rest of the tank for hours. some of the other fish look a bit slow and dead but they are resting i think. (female cherry barb with fins just touching the bottom. it all looks ok now... ill see what happens in the morning.
oooh... ps. i noticed her fins have healed by half the slits. a dramatic improvement. =] i hope it continues to work =]
i'll keep you all posted.
Thanks.
