| Nice start. Can't wait to see it updated. Although, it kind of looks like you took some rocks out've the little bucket I have full of rocks for my tanks. But it looks nice.

| Today I have been doing some research for this tank and was determined to find some creeks that weren't "trout approved" waters. I picked up a local paper map and a couple online maps of the area and I have found a few places way off the beaten path where I will be able to collect prior to the start of trout season. Early next week I should have my container that I will be using to take pictures of minnows in order to ID them. Once I get this I should be able to go out and begin trying to collect some fish for my tank. I will probably get a crayfish for my tank next week as well. The tank should cycle pretty quick because I had the filter cartridge in my other tank that is established. |

| I caught some killifish in Lake Erie last summer that weren't bad looking. They would be kinda big for a 10g though. (Last summer I did a lot of minnow catching just to look at them and take pics. :P)

| Be patient Brian haha Jen- Did you get them at Presque Isle? I need to see what I can find here so I can figure out what will do well in a 10g. They will probably only be in this tank for a few months though till I get my larger tank. When I get that I will be able to transfer them to that one. |

| Yeah, I found them at Presque Isle. I can't remember which beach it was at but it was one of the last few, 10 maybe? Edit: Its a banded killifish, they get to be 5" according to my book.

| It looks like a cray-hunter's paradise! You get out there and start flipping rocks over, and I guarantee you'll find yourself some crayfish! Seems like you might have a decent variety to choose from as well...especially if you're out exploring in different locations: State of Pennsylvania And I agree about adding more rocks to the tank. | All the streams around here are a cray hunter's paradise. That stream is protected trout waters so I'm unable to get anything out of there till April 12th. I have a couple of other streams in the area, that I need to scout out, that I should be able to collect from now. I'm going to take Brian's idea he mentioned to me in chat there other night and I think I'm going to build up a wall of rocks on the left side and then have a few rocks across the bottom. I'm going to try to make it look like part of the wall has collapsed. |

What book do you use? I saw Nation Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Fishes for sale at Borders in Buffalo the other day and I thought it seemed to have quite a bit of information and good pictures in it to help identify what I find. I'm going to stop by the same spot I took that picture later today and get more rocks if the ground isn't too soggy from the rain we got last night. I will probably get a bucket full so I have plenty to choose from. | |
