Well time will tell what they are. When I eventually upgrade these fish to a larger tank I may go with some darters or something else in there instead. I don't think it will be long till they will need a larger tank. I think these fish grow about the same speed as oscars do so I'm thinking they will get large rather quick.

Hopefully you can start up another darter tank sometime crimsontsavo. I love to see how other people setup their native tanks and enjoying seeing all the different fish people find and keep.

I think I will be giving my tank a good cleaning and removing the plant that is in there right now. I having trouble with brown algae coating just about everything in the tank so I'm hoping to figure out how to get that under control and once I'm able to get everything cleaned up I will go and collect a bunch of plants to put throughout the tank. There were lots of plants in the lake that we have here in town so getting some new plants shouldn't be any problem at all.

The plant is completely covered in nasty brown algae and looks horrible. I can easily get a new clean plant of the same type where I found that one or get another type of plant as well.

Alter...is there a guy on there who goes by the name 'sandtiger'?
Just curious, because he's our native fish 'go to guy' over on the oscarfish forum as well. I'd trust what he says. He may not know what it is because it is still quite young yet, but if he does, I'd be inclined to agree with his I.D.

That name doesn't really ring a bell.

Haha, well, just thought I'd throw that out there anyway...
As for my guess on what that fish is...well...that's not gonna be happening anytime soon. I'm not familiar enough with these guys to make an I.D. on such a young fish. Maybe I'll recognize it once it's gotten bigger, lol.

Haha thanks BV. I think once it gets a little bit bigger I should be able to ID it myself but it is fun to watch everyone on that other forum argue over what it might be

Here are a couple of pictures from today. I don't know what happened with the one with the tail issues. There is nowhere for it to really jump out so I'm thinking that he may have decided to try to hide where the cray was. I'm going to hopefully clean this tank up some today and rearrange things a bit. I'm going to remove the rock wall as it is a pain to keep clean and it gives the cray a place that he hides too much for me to enjoy him. I will also be getting some new plants for the tank and if that fish is in fact gone then I will probably attempt to catch another one. Here are the new pictures though.

I will be sure to post some updated pics of the tank. I was really hoping the one with the tail missing would survive because then I would have rescued him haha.

I think I'm going to get rid of the blog. Most people just read everything here anyway.
