Default GBR's Sex?

ok.. I read brians gbr thread and I think that I have it figured out. I picked up 3gbr's today and I believe I picked up 2 female and 1 male.. I will post pics later tonight..

On the female (what I believe to be) the dorsal fin doesn't really have any of the black spikes any higher than the rest of the fin. the bellys have some red to them and they both look fatter than the one I think is the male. that one has a definate few spikes in the dorsal fin that are longer than the rest. the ones that I think are female also don't have as much color as the male. what do you guys think based on what I have said?

Females generally dont have as much colour as the males (like what you said)
look at the blue spot on the side of the rams body. If there is light blue spangles inside the blue spot like this pic..http://www.tropicalfishforum.net/pho...n_Blue_Ram.JPG
its a female.
Males wont have those light blue spangles inside the blue spot, so for me thats a good way to sex them, but i dont think all females have those spangles.

I think you've got 1 male and 2 females from what you described

here is one of the females.. that I believe anyway.. the other one looks just like it.. but not a defined black spot yet.. but they were just put into the tank a few hrs ago.. the male is definately a male.. huge second spike.. both the females don't have any raised spikes..

if I have 2 females and 1 male.. will they likely mate? I also have a second male.. but he is double the size and a different breed.. longated dorsal fin. you can see it behind the female here in this pic

The one that is flared up is a male. The other one i THINK is a female. I can kind of make out the pink color on her tummy.

I have another one that looks just like it.. and another small one that I know is male.. so right now.. the count is even! all I need is a small rock for them to get busy!
