Would one of these have saved you?

SMS122 pH Controller by Milwaukee Instruments - AquaCave

Granted it's $110 but once your PH started changing it would have shutdown your co2 system and probably saved your tank. At that price I'm thinking you can't go wrong. I think when I get my co2 system I will one of those for sure.

Thanks
Malcolm

Those controllers are great! They save you on CO2 refills, and give you great control over the amount of CO2 going into the tank. The only thing with them is that you need to keep them calibrated, and occasionally test the water pH with a test kit to make sure the probe's reading isn't shifiting.

That's good to know. How often do you calibrate them? Once a month or so? Sounds like a good investment.

Thanks
Malcolm

Yes, calibrate them about once a month.

Does it cost anything to calibrate them? I've been shopping around and noticed you can purchase solutions at a specific PH for these. I assume to calibrate them?
