I could very easily put it under the "wing" on the left side of my driftwood to shade it - thanks for the heads up.

I'm actually shocked I don't have really bad algae - or any, really, yet. But I'm certainly not complaining...

Actually, as long as everything is in sync and the plants are thriving, it's near impossible for algae to take control. But once you lose that edge, it will come, and fast. With the lighting you have, it shouldn't be too bad. Just don't do a DIY for the 55G, as you will more than likely get BBA and fast. What BBA really likes is low fluctuating CO2 levels, as well as low nitrates or high phosphates. DIY is great in small tanks, but larger ones are more prone to get BBA with DIY if it's not putting out enough CO2.

Cool.

LWB, I owe you big time for steering me towards the zebra loaches. Now that I have them, I can't believe I ever considered anything else

(Not that there's anything wrong with YoYos or Burmese Borders - I just love my zebras)

Oh, and they will do well with yoyo's too, if you ever decide to get some.

I just noticed I graduated from Teenie Weeny Fish to Little Fish, lol. But in reality, I'm the Fish Meistro, lol. Mainly dwarf cichlids and eels of course, lol. And sharks, and tetras, lol. Oh, and rainbowfish, lol. Then there's plants, lol. Oh, and can't forget al my different loaches too.

Jeffy, I luv ur tanky. Adding a flower pot or two will be awesome. No matter how hard I try to make my tanky look good, I still think it sucks. Everyone has a better tanky than me. I just bought a plant and I hope its true aquatic, because there is no name on the pot. I also found the bulbs at WalMart as I was stocking, so I am going to plant them.

The more I think about it, I think I'm thinking about the tank wrong when I divide it into three areas - now, I'm considering more of a downward sloping plant line, from tall in the back left corner to some open space on the front right corner.

Hard to explain, but of course, I'll have pictures

I know what you're saying, Jeffy. How about bambo fence? You can find it online for it. Say for example, have it curved in the corner or more natural with some curveness in the curve. You can have it one size height or 2 sizes, taller in the back. Fill up each level with that substrate. Maybe you will like that?

It was on the net and I cant remember where I saw it. Kinda like the bambo stalks in several pieces together to form a fence.
