In other words can they be booted until their 13th birthday?

Personally I realize that in a forum we are going by a persons word, I doubt anyone would admit to not meeting the age limit if they thought they would not be allowed to participate

Yeah...usually we're just going to find out after the fact that they lied to us. Too bad. Pie in the sky hopes that someone would actually raise their kids to be accountable and tell the truth.

the worst about trolls and obscene language/behavior-- definately removed
i agree that this may have been a little distasteful, but let me explain.

we oscarfish members are well aware of the amount of trolls we get, which is actually a sort of joke on the forum.

there is even a thread in the "polls" section where trolls of the past are joked about in a very light-hearted manner:

http://forums.oscarfish.com/viewtopi...a56f28fe111f93

this might clear up any misconceptions....

i check ip addresses.it's not to hard to spot certain people.most people don't change they way they type, don't think that far ahead.why would you want to know what the lines.why need to know why not just act as though you were in public.if nothing else be cool because there are enough people in the world that suck eggs enough to make up for the rest of us

from an admins standpoint ive been a server admin and hosted many forums so i can tell you that its difficult to ban a certain nusiance if they have a dynamic ip address

ok say you delete their account its free they can get another

say you block thier IP address it eventually changes and some other poor fool eventually gets that IP address

or you can block the hostname if you dont mind blocking out almost 1000 people

and if your completely evil you can grab their IP and hit them periodicly with short half DOS attacks (not enuff to saturate their bandwidth but just enuff to lag them down a bit) ive known several admins to do that

hope that helps
