yup. but most people consider having live plants makes the tank better. not only do live plants look better, it also helps aid in the water quality of the tank. if you go with live plants, make sure you don't overfeed them and you probably will have to do more water changes. good luck!

I started with plastic plants.  I find it better to learn the ropes before I start with aquatic plants - then when your comfortable, you can work on aquascaping to incorporate plants into your aquarium.

Remember - keep it simple, then work up.  Saves you a lot of money and headaches...

I remeber replying to this post before..strange...

I feel it is easier to use live plants along with fish for newbies. Plants make a fish tank so much easier to care .
