Post Pl*co question

I recently added a little pl*co to my tank. I was told that even if you have plenty of algae in the tank you can still starve them to death and should always feed them sinkable tabs. I would like to hear some views on this.
Thanks.

You could also go buy a clip for your side of the fishtank and use zucinni or cucumbers to supplement there feeding.

I agree with Oscar... the algae pellets alone may keep them alive, but they won't give you a happy pleco, they're not very satisfying to an animal designed to eat large amounts of low nutritional value food.

Fresh veggies are the best.  Slices of zucchini are my plecos' favourites, and they also appreciate shelled peas and romaine lettuce.

You should definitely feed your pleco algea pellets and vegetables that will give you the best looking and acting pleco.

lol. kitten.

Your pleco will survive without anything extra, but it will make a happier pleco to give an algae tablet and some nice fresh Zucchini.

I don't usually buy zucchini. Are there any other greens/fruits/veggies I can give to my pleco?

I usually feed him algae wafers, and he eats off the algae that grows in the tank, but I want to try something different.

Vegetables I've seen/tried/heard of being fed to algae eaters...

Zucchini
Cucumber
Peas
Romaine Lettuce (iceburg lettuce has nil nutritional value)
Sweet potato

I'm sure that other people will be able to come up with more.
