| Yes, definately do a fishless cycle. My 10g took about a week and a half. You mentioned leaving the fish waste in for a cycle. Assuming your goldies do die of ich, you'll want to clean the tank thoroughly so your next fish don't get it. I've heard Ich has a 14-day life cycle and needs a fish host, but I'm not sure how this works. There's an article somewhere on this forum about how to cycle, and MissFishy's site also covers it pretty well. You may even have the ammonia needed already.
