Default Platys

I bought a 10 gallon tank earlier this year and I have been having a ton of problems. Every time I put anything other than a platy in it it dies. I first tried platys and had 3 in it for a month of 2 and then went to a fish store and bought 2 gouramis. Long story short 1 had ich from the store and killed all 5 fish.

Round 2 - I got 3 more platys and kept them for 2 months then added 2 guppies and both guppies and 1 platy was dead 2 weeks later. So I bought 2 platys and kept them for 2 MORE months and recently added 2 more platys and a pleco and now 1 new platy and 2 old ones died.

I checked the water and everything was in normal range and I do water changes once a week and I just finished vaccuming the gravel the day before this last round of deaths.

Any suggestions!!

When you say that you checked your water, what did you check? Did you test your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels?

I have one of those multi-sticks and it checks the nitrates, nitrites, hardness, and PH and all of them were within the normal range that I've read

It could be the source. Try going to a different pet store and get platys from them and see how they do. Welcome to the tank!

Well I have not gone back to the original fish store that I got ich from because I know someone else who had the same problem. I've been getting them from Petsmart and Petco. I don't know of any other place to get fish from around here.
