I took baseline tests last night.

Both my tap water and the tank water have .5 ppm ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates and are at a pH of 7.8

Decided that the cycle is not progressing without fish, so today I added 7 lyretail creamsicle mollies (thats fancy for some orange mollies with long tails) looks like 2 males and 5 females and a handful of ghost shrimp. I added both chemicals when I put the fish in, as directed.

Yes, or well at least every other day. With a 46 gallon tank and only a few fish I wouldn't expect the ammonia to start really rising for a couple days with a normal cycle. I'll test daily for the first few days though, since the system has said that things should progress more quickly due to the additives etc.

Copy from other thread.

"TAL and Froggyfox can test the system as long as they want I'm sure they will be satisfied with the end result.

Here is a link to the installation video in case everyone wants to see how the system is installed.
Zero Water Change Kit Installation - Hi-Q USA Zero Water Change Aquarium System

Thanks,

Luke

Thanks Luke...although I could use some clarification on the products as I posted in post #23 on this thread.

The tank has been really cloudy since yesterday, which in my book is a good thing...means bacterial bloom. I'll be testing water again tonight to see if that ammonia has continued to rise and if there are any nitrites/nitrates. I also want to add some more decor to the tank because the fish are all being pretty skittish with just the gravel and the filter towers in there

I hate the noises...I'm so glad the tank is downstairs. With two powerheads and the power filter going its like a miniature band down there. I may have to take one of the towers apart and smack the powerhead because it was making a crazy sound this morning. Didnt have time to investigate as I was running out the door.

Not sure "smacking" is the best way to fix things...lol

Yeah using some WD40 is a much better method

a light thump works wonders for a noisy pump, powerhead, power filter etc...and is less likely to kill my fish than WD40 lol Pretty sure I'm not going to take a submerged powerhead apart and spray WD40 on it. More likely that something is minorly out of whack...when I moved the airline tubing attached to it the noise quieted down. Ya smarta$$#S
