Eheim trumps the Rena XP filters. I've had both for years now and have had to replace some seals on the XP as well as the impeller, but the Eheim is 100% original and I have 0 problems.
Because of CO2 injection I run the spray bars submerged. I had to drill out the XP's spray bar holes bigger because it was making a funny whistle when I did this. No such problem on the Eheim.
I've also had a Via Aqua 750 canister, basically an Eheim 2028 Pro II clone, except that it's $75 brand new and a raging piece of junk.
Marineland just put out a new canister filter which will probably be my next canister purchase. I like their Magnums except for the corny output/intakes but those can be modified anyway. I also dislike bio wheels so I don't use them. http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsUS...sterfilterc360 |
well.. the eheim filters are the best you can buy.. they are also the most expensive.. I think you get your best bang for your buck with Rena xp series. I am glad I got the rena xp filter, I bought a second one a week ago and have it hooked up already.. awesome filter!
