Post Insert a wall in an existing tank?

I am curious - could I add a divider or seperator in an existing tank?  I am thinking about getting another tank just for bettas, and of course, would need to add seperators.  Is this possible?

In a perfect world, it would be a 3 or 5 gallon tank with enough seperators so that each betta would have his own gallon.  The seperators would allow for water circulation - so clean, heated water would come from one source for all sections.  I am not sure if the seperators would need to be opaque or semi-transparent, because this set up would be for only male bettas.

Suggestions?  Or do you know where I can get such a perfect betta world?

Thanks so much.
