| An electronic ballast will be small and light, a magnetic ballast will be the size of two eyeglass cases and will have some weight to it.
You can usually find electronic ballasts at most hardware stores. |

| Ok, I don't want to put you down, but if your asking that questiuon then you didn't at all understand this post or the principal of overdriving lights. The idea is to use an electronic ballast designed to power 2 or 4 tubes, and use it to overpower 1 or 2 tubes, thus giving you more watts per tube in less space.
If you are not 100% sure what you are doing, please don't continue, I don't want to read a post on here that you burned your house down while trying to do this. |

| It depends on what the output of the electronic ballast from his light fixture is?
You won't get full wattage, so putting a 40w ballast connected to a 20 watt tube you'll get somewhere around 30 watts out of it. |

| That's a magnetic ballast, sorry but it won't work.
If you used that you'd definately burn your house down! |
