Default My Gourami's are not well!

I have, or had..6 Gourami's. Last week, I noticed one of them would mostly just sit on the bottom of the tank, I woke up a few days later and he was laying on his side, seemingly gasping for air, reluctantly I put the poor soul in the freezer.

I now notice that another Gourami is doing the same thing. I am afraid of him suffering the same fate.

My tank is well aged (2 years) and I have had these Gourami's well over a year.

My tank is 33 Gallons, all my water levels check out great. I do weekly water changes...RELIGIOUSLY. I guess I've been lucky in the fact that I have never lost a fish before, but not knowing what's causing this is making me nuts.

I have not introduced any new fish or decor to my tank.

I looked into the possiblity of dropsy, but his scales and body looked fine.

Any ideas?

I've read in a few threads here that apparently Dwarf Gouramis aren't as hardy as some other gouramis. People have mentioned that they die a lot sooner than other fish.
