| Black neon tetra has had a bulge on its right-side behind its eye which was slowly swelling in size for about 6 months, but today that raised tissue had a worm like parasite (.4 cm) crawling out. I observed the worm for a minute and then decided to quarantine the fish. By the time I got a net, the worm was gone and the affected tissue less raised. I assume the worm broke free and was eaten by another fish. The tetra is in quarantine and doing well considering it was hosting a parasite for months. Any ideas on what this creature was? I added a second heater yesterday to help maintain 80 degrees during the fall/winter months. This may of triggered the parasites activity. |

| The black neon tetra is back with its peeps. After a week of quarantine the fish is doing great. The scales are slightly disrupted, but other than that no other signs of the invasion. |
