Sorry to hear that RIP guppy.

Do you have any idea what happened to him? Is it possible he was attacked?

no it wasnt an attack, i dont know how it happens but i know that this happens to guppies. they are fine, then when you check them up, you see their fins shredded nd then, they die....i had a mle that died of the same thing 1 year ago...

I got one that that happened to....I think its a form of fin rot actually...thats what it looks like to me anyway. He only lasted one day and by the end of it, it was like his tail completely disentigrated. (sp?)

Sorry

around here 90% of the shops have the same problems with guppies and so did i, i've had about 3 or 4 guppies die from that, i dont know what it is and its so annoying because they just go within like a day! and mine got alot worse than that! one of them was like incredibly small instead of big but i managed to save it with salt! then about 3 weeks later it came back and i couldnt save them

i think we should post this in the general forum to get some replies.

i read that fancy guppies are very fragile fish because they are horribly inbread. inbreeding is the only way that they can get those nice colours and crap out of certain generation. 1 fish male my be forced to mate with a female fish from two generations above or below. this type of inbreeding will emphasize the colours but also weaken whatever fry they have. this is why i don't keep fancy guppies.
