Question Our fish eat their Wheaties

Remember how I posted a while back about my Olympic Betta and how he got up on the sStyrofoam cup? Then I posted that I lost a few fish cause they jumped out of their tank?

Well the other night I was just about to log on to this place when my hubby says "that shark is freaking me out --- OH MY GOD" followed by "Get me some water!!!" I jumped out of my seat and saw the poor ID shark Skipper out of the big tank and on the floor. It all happend so fast, hubby was able to grab him with his hands and put him in a bucket we had water in from the goldfish tank. Good thing I hadn't thrown it out yet! Poor guy ended up hurting his fin, but is alive and looks good other than the fin thing. We have been treating him with melafix, and he's getting better..

My question now is will the melafix hurt the angelfish eggs that are now in the tank? or should be move Skipper into the medicine tank? I didn't want to do that since he is so stressed out now and catching him and netting him is really stressful!

Thanks in advance

angie

How's he doing? Did you use the melafix in the end?

I have no idea about melafix and eggs. How bad is his fin? Is he having trouble swimming?

Yeah we used the melafix.. The eggs all died so I guess that answers my questions.. His fin seems much better now and no troubles..

thank goodness.. I don't know what I'd do if we lost him.. I have nightmares now though about it...

thanks for answering me lotus

Sorry to hear about the eggs But at least your shark is feeling better

I guess next time something like that happens, put them straight in the hospital tank.

They talk about stress on fish, but I certainly know what it's like to be stressed about a fish.

Yeah I hate to move him though cause he's so big and doesn't' fit in the net... We might be (fingers crossed) getting another tank this weekend from the library cause they are selling it because I kept bugging them about keeping it clean lol. So I'm going to move the two angels that keep laying the eggs and hopefully they will be able to survive..

I called around about the methane blue and apparently big Al's is the only place to get it now because of some new law or something....

dont worry about your angels cowgirl, there pretty tough beauties and i'll bet they'll try breeding again, like all the other angels in the world!
