| I have black convicts and they are acting very strange they are making holes in the gravel and laying in them. And if any of the other fish come near the holes they chase them away does anyone know what is going on? Also one of them have red spots on the belly it doesn't look like they got in a fight or anything but red spots do they have something that I have to treat them for? Anyone who can help it would be great. |

| Nothing special for Convicts. If you really want to keep as many of the fry as possible, then once they hatch move them to another tank, or move the eggs. But convicts spawn like crazy, and are pretty good parents once they figure it out and tend to take care of the fry pretty well.

Same here, I have 2 Africans and they do that same thing, I think it's def a territorial "making thier home" type thing. Its kind of fun to watch.. the red dot however I dont know, My biggest one has a white dot on his, but its normal.. so not sure.

| well i recently learned from a debate that the female convicts have some color to really nice color, and now knowing this i think its sorta helps with this too. So if its down about a inch down the body or so like that its just hopefully the convicts color; if you notice any problems then it could be something else. But I'm guessiing everything is going alright.
