Default platy birthing question

I woke up this morning and noticed my pregnant mickey mouse acting strange. I put her in a floating breeding tank (??). It has a V shaped thing in it and the fry drop to the bottom. Anyway about 2 hours ago I noticed one little fry at the bottom swimming around and one more little "ball" with what looks like an eyeball. I am assuming the little ball is a dead fry maybe?? Well it's 2 hours later and there are no more fry. Momma still looks huge though. How long should I leave her in the breeder box? Do you think she will be having more fry or is she done. How many do they normally have at a time? Sorry for all the questions. I am just so excited. Feel like a proud grandma or something. LOL

when my guppys give birth they usually stay huge for a day or two then go back to normal but my platys have never been pregnant. as for the little ball its just an egg that didnt hatch inside the pregnant platy. but its not going to hatch so ya its a dead fry. i would take her out as soon as posible she will eat her babys. they will have ten to forty fry at once my last guppy who had birth had twenty five live fry. but it goes about the same for all live bearers like the swordtails, platys, and guppys. and congrats hope they all do good!!!

I have her in one of those tanks where she can't get to the fry after they are born. She has only had 3 live ones and 2 dead ones so far. Is it normal to have some dead ones? The 3 that are alive are acting fine. I was just expecting more I guess
