| Last night after cleaning my 75g, I was watching them eat when I saw a struggling fry swimming eratically. A few molly fry were picking on it. I grabbed a net to save the little guy and to inspect him further. I had never seen him before. All the fry in that tank are still-brown guppies and creamsicle mollies. This guy was dark mottled brown. I had just taken out my contacts, so I grabbed some glasses and a flashlight to get a good look at him in the net. I was SHOCKED to realize it was a little salt and pepper cory cat!! My cories have laid eggs before and I've even fished them out and tried to hatch them twice with no luck. Now I just leave them and the fish eat them all. I can't believe this little guy has survived. There are alot of fish in that tank for him to have navigated without becoming lunch! He is as big as my 3 wk old guppies, so I'm guessing a month old. And he is either exhausted from getting to the surface in that big tank or injured from my gravel vaccuuming last night. I'm SO sad, that he is in bad shape after making it this long! I left him resting in a big net, so he can get to the surface easily and dropped in a food pellet if he's up to eating. I left before dawn this morning, but if he's alive when I get home, I'll move him to the sword fry tank. Is that the best thing to do? Does anyone have any suggestions if he hangs in there how to help him? I'm so sad that he might die after surviving unprotected all this time in that big tank

| Just keep doing what you think is right, and give it your best shot. The better variety of food you feed him, the more nutrients he will intake, the faster his wounds will heal on their own. Keep the water clean (while he in the net theres the good water flow.) Moving him into the sword fry tank will be a good idea if he is larger than the fry, otherwise you dont want him to get bullied and stressed out. He's already too weak for now. idk what you will choose to do with him, but follow your better judgement. Also i assume you read the cory cat breeding thread in this section. theres some good info there to help you in your decision making. Best of luck, i hope it makes it.

| Just got home, he looks great!! I can't believe it! I thought he would be dead. Nope. He is almost exactly the size of the swords, so I moved him in there. They aren't paying him any attention. His swimming has normalized. I fed the fry their First Bites and dropped them two partial pellets. He was stuck on one a few mintues ago. The tank is bare and he seemed a bit disturbed by the filter current. I slowed that down. Yeah! Keep your fingers crossed!

| I kept studying my tank after finding this little guy. I figure if he made it, maybe there is more. Sure enough, I spotted another one! Jeez, talk about a challenge. Try netting a 3mm catfish out of a 75g tank without squashing or losing him. Perseverance paid off and now I have two. Mostly, I'm just posting to express my happiness. They are really cute with their teeny weeny little whiskers. Yeah, I know what they are, but they look like whiskers...Anyway, I went out of town for a 6 days and I swear they nearly doubled in size! They were the same size as my sword fry and now they look huge next them. Is this normal growth? I've not experienced cory fry before.
