| Breeding Bettas I decided i want to try and breed some Bettas. How will i keep a male and female in my 20gal without the male killing the female? I was thinking of getting a clear divider so they can see each other and hopefully the male will make a bubblenest. What should i do if they have eggs? I know i have to take the female out but how long should i keep the male in the tank with the fry? Any info i can get will be great!!!

| I kept a male and a female in a 10 with no problems. LOTS of hiding places though. I found it only worked out when got them both youngish so they were just always used to eachother.
I find the female's much more responsive when she can 'smell' the male. I think that's it at least. I know if I drop water from my male's tank (these two I have now are seperated), into my females she gets her breeding stripes almost immediately.
The clear divider might do the trick for that.

| divde them in some way, feed the female lots of good stuff, when yo see horizontal stripes on her yo can let her go in the tank. after the male makes a bubble nest that is
if they fight, take her out or hell kill her
after he has squeezed the eggs from her take her out and hell put them in the bubble nest and it will depend on the male when yo can take him out
