Post fatties

all my tetras get huge with eggs, then nothing...what is going on and how do i get them to spawn? The water is average freashwater tropical...

6 neons
6 black neons
6 glowlights
6 harliquins

(not all in the same tank)

Hi Kitten,
try a 25% water change using water about 5f cooler than your tanks, if they are ready to spawn this will usually trigger them, remeber if they do you will have to remove the fish as soon as they are finished otherwise they will eat the eggs. 8)

I have nowhere to put them!! Oh well...i will try the water thing, if they spawn they spawn....

So tetras really aren't that hard to spawn i thought they were?

i tried reading bout it and i got a bunch of stuff about breeding mops and this and that so i decided to stick with m bettas

Spawning mops can be made from any fine thread/wool, use about twenty strands 12" long, fold in half, then tie around the uncut end ie: the loop, then tie this to a stone for base mop or to a piece of polystyrene for a floating mop.
Make sure there is no dye that can leach into the water, sterilise and away you go. 8)
