Absolutely.

Lake Malawi Cichlids from Africa.

Yellow labs are great starter fish, are beautiful, and breed like rabbits  (labidochromis caerelus). you could have a nice colony in a 50 and never get bored.

Take a look at this site, and you will never look back

Apistogrammas! Any kind, borelli, cacatuoides (which mine are the coolest), agasazzi... those are the only names i can spell of the top of my head. They get pretty difficult the farther down the list you go. a fifty gallon could sport a nice little family! Here's some pics

there are of my own stunnning pair (yes I am very proud)

Nimbochromis (haplochromis) venustus is a predatory fish from Lake Malawi and can get quite big (8 inches).   As far as I know they are a mouthbrooder. you can look at this for more info -  http://www.malawicichlids.com/mw08068.htm

does anyone know, can u keep more then 2 convicts in a tank, i heard they wont tolerate each other.  Does it matter if they are pink or black?  My 2 are black convicts, i want to get a breeding pair of pink convicts as well

Ive got a pair of Kribs, but no luck on the babies yet! Still waiting, I think the male is not mature enough yet.  He has grown a fair bit since I got him so I think he will so be ready to go. *

you can keep more than 2 convicts in a tank.  This works best if you can have atleast 5 or more.  For some reason the crowding reduces the agression, or at least it's spread out over several fish instead of just one being picked on all the time.  As far as keeping blacks with pinks you may end up with cross breading.  I have peacocks and that's the way it is with them at least.  So if you don't want the black and the pink to mess around keep them seperate, else it would make for a great looking tank.
