Post Love is in the air...er, uh, tank.

Hope this doesn't sound too dumb.  We have a pair of kribs that we are trying to breed.  (Read as I am trying, Elizabeth cringes at the sight of them dancing together.  She doesn't seem to want more babies.)

Anyhoo, they seem interested, but there doesn't seem to be any action, other than dancing.  Is there any kind of conditioning that needs done to convince them to do their thing, like w/ bettas, or does it just happen.  Our LFS dude said just to let nature take its course and not get too involved, but I'd really like to have baby kribs to play w/ also.

Any ideas?

Waterchange with water either slightly warmer or cooler than the tank.

Feed some treats, like frozen bloodworms, enriched brine shrimp, or regular "people" shrimp.  Hungry fish don't breed.

Also make sure there are a few cave like structures for them to choose from. I"ve also read that they will spawn on a flat piece of slate ON THE SUBSTRATE....mine preferred caves....

Well, we've got all but the water change done.  Will have to try that.  Sounds great!  Hope to have little fishies soon.  Will keep everyone informed.

I'm not an expert, but I've done allot of reading. Some fish like to spawn in shallow water. Try draining the tank half way and leaving it that way for a couple of days. See what happens. miley*
