Arrow Hello - Puffer

Hey guys,

Im new to the site, this is my first post.

I've kept fish for about a year now mainly guppyies. I ended up getting a green spotted puffer fish last weekend. Hes so cute. I have him living in a tank by himself atm. I am going to start adding marine salt to the tank tonight - hes been in freshwater since i got him and even at the petstore.

Here is a video I made

YouTube - My Puffer Fish

I guess im curious about how much salt i should be adding and when.

Check out www.thepufferforum.com for more info on them. Most people recommend brackish water when they are young, and full marine as adults. Just remember to start off slowly and don't change the salinity too fast. I know when going from fresh-brackish, you are not supposed to go more than .001 sg per week, but I'm not sure how fast you are allowed to go from brackish-marine.

I dropped 5 small apple snails into the puffer tank. He torments them non stop, it's cute =D

Lastnight I figured I would save the snails from being eaten.
I put them in my breeder tank and gave one of them to my bf, not knowing they were dead. (from the salt in my puffer tank)

They are all floating this morning

I guess I can cross that off my list of life goals.....

55. Giving someone a dead animal as a pet
