| Ok I have a puffer question:
I've read that the dwarf puffer is a good tankmate for angels...is this true? We are going to put angels in our 50g along with the clown loaches that are in our 65 now. Thought a dwarf puffer would be cute IF they actually can get along with angels and clowns. |

| puffers nip when they get hungry, and they get hungry a lot. when they bite, you can make out the shape of the puffers mouth on the fin. i dont think the angels'll like that.
not sure if this applies to dwarf puffers.

| I'm not sure we want to be doing teeth-mark analysis on the angels to identify the perpetrator |

| id say no...id never keep any long finned fish with puffers of any kind. barbs and fast moving fish are usually OK tankmates for puffers.
im getting a few dwarf puffers soon in my empty 10 gallon, and moving my gs puffer to the 40 gal. id like to get a fig 8 to go in the 40 with him, and ive read up on the temperment of gs puffers, but alot of the info conflicts with each other. most of the websites i visit say that a gs puff is calm tempered, while a juvi, but doesnt tolerate other puffers when mature. i wouldnt want for the puffers to get along fine while young, but then fight/kill each other when they mature.
anybody have luck with keeping a fig 8 and a green spotted puffer?

| I have some very begginer questions on dwarf puffers, first of all they are freshwater right, you could keep 2 or 3 in a 10 gallon. Do they eat plants, and do they like a certain amount of current, i ak this because they look like they would like calm waters. |

| dwarfs are freshwater puffers, 2 or 3 is the recomended number in a 10gal, and im not sure if they prefer no current or not, but if i had to take a guess id say they like calm.
heres a page explaining a little more about them. http://www.rr.iij4u.or.jp/~kohda/en/en-dwarfpuffer.htm

| Ok, I didn't think that puffers would really do well with angels (cause all puffers nip) but got totally confused because fishprofiles.com has them on the compatibility list for each other. I guess the person that decided what was compatable got lucky and had no problems with this. |
