| My new corycat =[ I got a corycat yesterday, along with a dwarf gourami, to go into my 29 gal community tank. He seemed fine yesterday, roaming around the bottom and ecetera, but this morning he was swimming up by the top, real enegetic like, just pacing up and down. I don't know if this is normal behavior, or if that means anything. Maybe he was hungry? Figured I'd ask. |

| Sounds kinda like a stress reaction to not having other corys to school with. Is he alone? Cories do make mad dashes to the surface to gulp air but it's not something they do constantly. |

| He may be ok with just 2 others. But really they need to be kept in groups of at least 6. |

| Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but it is normal cory behavior to swim up and down the sides of the tank all crazy like. But yeah, I would definately get him some mates. 3 corys will be fine if that is all you can fit!

| My cories go up and down along the wall a lot, and also splash the surface and dive back down often.

| Ok like I said Quote: |

| They should only do this every few minutes or so if that. If he is constantly pacing up and down the glass of the tank, this is a stress reaction.
Getting julie corys may not be good enough. You didn't say what species of cory this is but the new ones you purchase need to be of the same species. |

| My corys pace up and down the aquarium all the time, not for air, most people's corys do this...
Let me phrase that differently, they are not shooting up and down along the wall, nothing frantic, it is more like a casual pace swimming along, up and down the sides of the aquarium.
I think Pure may be right, the little guy is probably stressed if it is more frantic way.

| He's an Emerald. He's fine. I figured out it was his normal behavior. And named him Skitzy. I did get two false julii cory cats, because there were no emeralds left. He likes them enough. |
