Aww, I'm so sorry!
An idea popped into my head as I read your first post:
I used to have African Dwarf Frogs....the ate all of my fish! =0
Perhaps your frogs attempted to eat him and part of him got stuck inside the filter?
But when my frogs ate my fish, they swallowed them whole...
I'm sorry for this mystery...I'd be having a hissy fit if my bettas dissapeared overnight v.v

No way.. African Dwarf frogs will only eat what can fit in their mouth and they could never get big enough to eat a betta. If you mistakenly owned African Clawed Frogs then that is a possibility, and they would eat everything..

Hmm...maybe....I was about 4ish or 5ish? I only remember looking up to my tank and seeing a frog with half of my fish sticking out of it's mouth v.v
I think my mom said it was an African Dwarf, so that's what I've always assumed *shrugs*

yeah, african clawed frogs are easier to breed and commonly sold as dwarf frogs to poor unsuspecting people.

I have no doubt your frog chomped the betta and he got filter whammy'd

Awww, I'm so sorry! I understand how you feel. One of my guppies was "eaten" by my filter. I'm so sorry.
