what tha heck

My blue paradise fem just died . She just spawned 4 or 5 times back to back in my tank before i said enough and took the divider down. In the last week the back half of her body got really dark and the front half got really light which was new , but she was full of eggs and i thought maybe she was just trying to get the male to notice since they werent quardened off like before . She found a place to post up on my jungle val leaf and bloated up . Anyone else had one do this?
