Default CO2 Diffusser

Anyone know of a good diffuser that delivers the best quality for the money?
I need to buy two, so something reasonably cheap would be cool.

What kinds of difussers have the people on here with planted tank used in the past? I'm looking for something ceramic, or something that produces the tiniest micro bubbles...

i would say bass wood at the arts and craft store ie michaels! that stuff spits out micro bubbles! almost 100% diffusion! if you run it on low pressure then i would say even better. i am using a one inch piece in my 90 gal siliconed the tip where you cut it then jam it in the airline tubing and silicone around the end and you are good to go! i have been running off a 20 oz co2 bottle for almost 2 months way more efficient than the diffuser that came with my setup. hope this helps! to top it off bass wood is really cheap.

on another forum that im part of i have read where a guy used half of a 20oz bottle and made a small hole in the lid and ran throw some air tube. at the end of a air tube he had i think it was lime wood or something and had that inside the bottle with a power head under the open bottom half of the bottle so he had nice flow and so there was no c02 being gassed off at the top of the tank. just thought id put my 2 cents in.

yup the only thing is i dont like the idea of having an ugly plastic bottle in my tank! i guess overtime it wont matter because of all the plant growth but still. right now i am rigging up a powerhead with a 12" piece of clear tubing that is 5/8" ID and putting it in the corner with a hole at the top and to feed the co2 tubing in and run that down to the bottom of the tube.

Great suggestions guys. ive seen some of the diffusion methods with the bottle, and have used some of the mothods mentioned.

I've actually tried using bass wood, and chopstick, as well as a ceramic airstone. they all failed in that they get a slimy coat over them after a while. im guessing thats cuz of the yeast somehow going up the tube. anyway they didnt do good for me.
Right now im using a limewood diffusor, but its also getting that film, and the micro bubble streams have been cut off. theres only one stream going right now >_> No matter how many times i clean that stuff off with a brush, the slime always returns.

I've ordered two glass co2 diffusors (one rhinox 2000 and the other a nano diffusor.) the nano ran for 5 bucks. the rhinox which is for bigger tanks ran for 10 bucks. I dont know if theyll be worth it...i just hope the slime wont show up...

I use an elite mini filter. It produces finer bubbles than the diffuser I previously had.

I have a powerhead with the airline running to the intake, produced pretty fine bubles. I've always wondered if DIY CO2 produced enough pressure (safely) to use the glass diffusers.
