Talking A field line

So im wanting to start up an aquascape and have an idea but i dont know what plants i should use to achieve it. wanting to know if anyone has ideas or options you could share with me.

Heres what the general picture is: I live in a country area and wanted to maintain that aspect in my tank. I would like to have basically a "crop field" that is in the tank and lead up to a "forest line". Sort of like below:

I thought about what could be my grass type of fields. I was considering java moss as one. I would like to maintain a 2 color type field (dark green - green ) (green -yellow) something of this type (showing corn / wheat type thing). And have no idea what to use as a "forest" or "woods" type of plant to dominate as my hiding place for the schooling fish.

Open to any ideas!

Well you can create the road with white sand...
maybe large amounts of java/christmas moss covering drfitwood as the forest, and have some dwarf baby tears as the field... dont know, ive never thought of something like this.

I like the idea of the dwarf baby tears as the field, now if i can find a complimentary plant & color to go with it. And also, as a side not, you are always replying to my weird questions, so thanks for helping

a row of trimmed micro swords can be used to frame the road, like in the pic there. The forest remains a mistery. you need a dark green plant for it...

a good dark green choice for the forest is believe it or not, flame moss. if you plant it on a sloping rock or driftwood correctly, it can look like a bunch of trees, or branches.

heres what this could look like in combo with a fore ground. of course to fit your pic youd need to plant a bit differently.

I'm not sure what you have for lighting, but a good low-light plant that grows tall and is very dark is the African Fern (Bolbitis heudelotti).

It's the plant that is dark green that show near the top of the pointy piece of driftwood to the left of center. You can see several branches of it.

I really like the look of the dark flame moss as a wooded area, adding this to some driftwood to expose some natural wood in the "forest" will be a nice touch.

To capture what i mean by this project this picture better suits it, though i will be creating more of a wooden area then whats proven here, id say about 1/3 of the 30g tank. And in this picture the woods are in the back, my tank they will probably be on the left side.
