| Hmm well, one of my intakes steals some bubbles from my strip, but I have plenty of air coming into my tank (and I do mean PLENTY). So, depending on how much your filter introduces into the tank...you may not want to go that route.

| I agree with the cave suggestion, it would look nice. Maybe you could put the cave somewhere else so it didnt hide your driftwood. Also, if you are having problems with the cave you could use some silicone to make it more stable. Have fun putting all the plants in.

| I will have to play around with how things are setup inside the tank today and see what I can figure out. I'm sure I can get some kind of cave in there. Hopefully it will still allow me to hide my airstone as well. Thanks Jen. |

| I wonder, I doubt it would work...but there is a very outside chance. I was thinking, if that flake spray paint would be safe in a tank (I doubt it, but worth a shot) then you could get a piece of PVC pipe (like a 4-5in diameter) cut in half, and paint it with the flake paint. This could give you a start of a cave. Like I said, probably cant put the paint in the tank...but hey, its an idea

| Never use paint in a tank. If you want to do the PVC idea, you could always use aquarium-safe silicone to affix gravel onto it though. BV

| I figured the paint would be bad for it. I doubt I will use a pvc pipe in there too. I think I figure something out with the rocks to create some sort of little cave in there. I don't think I'm going to make it to the LFS today to get any plants so I will have some time to mess around with the aquascape tonight. I will see what i can come up with. I think I will also move the rocks to the right side of the tank like Jen suggested. This should allow the driftwood to be more visible and with the rocks over on that side it should also help hide the heater some as well. I will update with new pictures again tonight. |

| Alright 24 hours since my last tests and after I added the ammonia again. Just tested again and here are the results. Ammonia- 0 Nitrite- 2 Nitrate- 4 pH- 7.5 I rearranged the rocks once more to add a cave to the tank and this time I completely submerged my airstone. Here are the updated pictures. ![]() ![]() |
