| Quick update...did some serious (and overdue) work on the tank last night. Also discovered that I am once again in possession of yellow BN fry (free-swimming).
I felt bad though - I made the mistake of picking up the rock underneath which they were hiding, and the angels, keyholes, and bolivian ram went nuts. I put the rock back down before too many were picked off, but I still felt for those that became food.
I'm considering a breeding net. Does anyone know how well these guys are likely to survive without parenting? |

| Oh, also, I have a new home laptop. The old one was just too slow to be any good anymore.
That's good news for picture posting purposes -- maybe I'll take some tonight... |

| The clay tubes are pleco breeding tubes. My yellow bristlenoses have bred in them once. This most recent time, though, they bred under the rock structure in the middle of the tank. |

| Thanks man.
It's been a crazy 6 weeks -- I don't want to get into it too much, but my wife's mother was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer. Needless to say, our world has turned upside-down, and there's been little time for things I enjoy doing -- like visiting these message boards, working on my tank, etc. |

| Well, there's a new addition in my tank -- but I can't show you pictures until my stupid home computer stops being stupid and decides to actually start up.
But, I stopped by my LFS yesterday on a whim and they had some beautiful Bolivian Rams -- so I brought the best looking one home...
I'm also contemplating a drastic re-scaping in my tank, eliminating most of the plants I have now in favor of some different stuff. I'm definitely getting rid of the wisteria and probably the compact swords (only one is left anyway, and it isn't doing great), and I may even pull the wendtii crypt that has been in my tank from the very beginning (or maybe, I'll just pull most of it and leave some sprouts -- it'd be tough to get rid of the one plant I've had since the beginning).
I'm also planning on building up the rock work, and maybe adding another slender piece of driftwood if I can find the right piece. The LFS is supposed to be getting a new shipment of plants in tomorrow, so we'll see what they get in stock and go from there.
They also got in something I haven't seen around here before yesterday. They weren't ready to take home yet, but I'm all over them when I go back tomorrow (or maybe tonight)...
