I've seen some of it on Aquabid, looks really cool.

Instead of the cool flame moss, I picked up some very healthy Java Moss at my LFS. It took up almost a whole five gallon, it was $2.99 a golf ball size clump. The lady that helped me gave me all of it for $2.99! What a deal Anyway, it is in my tank along with the new addition of 12 white clouds for 10$

BTW, the little chunks in the moss is flake food.

Yes, it can. It allows the nutrients to be more evenly spread through the tank, eliminating dead spots. But if your filter provides plenty circulation, then the powerhead won't matter.

What is the trimming process like? I know sometimes my java moss will grow in weird directions and I trim it. Afterwards, it doesn't nearly look as good as before. What tools do you use?
I never trim my java moss. The only time I've ever taken any out was when I sent some to people. And when I did that, I just ripped sections off where it's growing the thickest. No tools.

If it looks half as good as the name makes it sound, then you had definitely better post pics ASAP upon acquisition!

32's not that bad, really. The majority of the fish are small, and only have 3 big fish. So the bioload really isn't that much, plus the java moss helps with it.

Thanks for the link to the flame moss pics, LWB.
It's not quite as 'exotic' as I had pictured, but quite beautiful nonetheless. I'd definitely nab some up if I came across it.

Java moss is in the category "fast grower" or "slow grower"?

Slow Grower. In my pics, that's just over 2 years growth.
