| It's been a little better that a week since I started misting. WOW!!!! Growth has been mind blowing. Seem to be gaining on the staghorn. I've been able to bump the lighting from 4wpg to 5.5wpg with only increased plant health as a byproduct. The proserpinaca palustris is turning the most beautiful pink. I'm sold !!! |

| just curious, but wouldnt a powerhead with an airintake work better, you could just plug the line from your co2 into the air intake. Then the co2 would have to go through the power head (getting chopped up) before being released through the output tube. dunno just my thoughts. Also i like the idea of a solid piece of pvc tube running the length of the tank.

| Absolutely zoo, I've found that the venturi on the powerhead works well. In some tanks, the plants you have may not like excessive current the powerhead may provide, but in many cases, it might work very well. There are many different methods for different applications. It's always fun to experiment and see what works best!

| Can someone explain to me how you would set this up on a canister filter? I have a magnum 350 I'm about to set up tonight, and I would like to set something like this up at the same time.
Thanks again, I'm very new at this.

But you can think of it this way too, using a PVC the length of the tank with holes along the PVC will decrease the total excessive current in the tank. So if you have a 48" tank, you don't need to use a 48" piece of PVC, but if it's a good 70% of the length of the tank, then you can set your hole size and distance between the holes to create the effect you want. Now I don't know how well the CO2 mist will reach the end of the tube, but you could use 2 powerheads with shorter PVC sections and split the CO2 between the 2, and get more even CO2 mist through the larger tank.

I was thinking the same thing lonewolf, I wondered how effective it would be on a 48" tank and was thinking of using a bit smaller power head but use two one on each side and run 2 24" bars. I really think im going to give this a try in my tank just need to find some time to work on it

| Another idea could be to place the powerheads next to each other in the center and run a single CO2 line in and place a T-connector with 3 or 4 inch CO2 tubes going to the powerheads. And have the PVC going out from the powerheads to the sides of the tank.

| ya i that would work too, but i think i would have an easier time hiding a power head in each corner versus 2 side by side in the middle of the tank, guess it would all come down to how the tank is aquascaped.
