E-mail received have been having problems with system.
Thread or beard algae indicates good water conditions. As soon as the plants are growing well the algae usually stops.
It would seem you have got everything in balance.
The thing most people forget is that to have some algae in your aquarium is quite natural.  8)

perhaps what you need is some faster growing plants (or more of it).  Also, some algae eaters to take care of the problem for now (american flagfish did it for me).

Does the algae grow on your plants?  why don't you try "turning over" your flourite?

oh... you noted 2 bubbles per second for CO2, but how much of it is dissolved in the water?  What is your pH and kH levels?

Post Re: algae on the flourite

seems to be some algae (green fuzz) growing on the plants.

my ph is 6.9 i believe. KH..i need to find out about that one.

also have a bad case of green algae growingon the glass. but was told that was because i have too much light and there isn't much i can do about that. so i just scrap it off with a razor every week.

i can turn over the flourite but i'm trying to grow some glosso so it's kinda difficult.

I think your problem will disappear when your flags get in the tank, but if it looks good, then why not keep it,it will usually only grow 50cm's in height, and as you say looks like a green carpet. 8)
