Post How many liters of DIY CO2?

I was wondering how much CO2 is required for a 60 gallon tank like mine.  I have 2 2-Liter bottles running into one line making like 1 bubble/2 sec.  I have this up and running for like a week and pH is still >7.4.  I think I have a pretty high KH but I haven't measure it yet.  I am not changing much because I see that my plants are growing and some are pearling.  I was browsing around the net and some dude used 4 2_Liter bottles for his 60 gallon but I am still not sure how much is enough.  BTW I use a reactor also.

Well, if your lighting is good, I would take that suggestion. As a very good person in plants pointed out on another board(Tom Barr), more co2 is better, and the plants will outcompete the algae better.

You need good lighting however. He also said that blackbrush and green spot can also be eliminated through increased Co2. The better your lighting, the more co2 you need..the more nutrients you need to add.

I get 1 to 2 bubbles a second with ONE 2 liter DIY.

You should be producing much more for your 60.

If your lighting is bright, you have a lot of plants, then try 3 if you are not sure.

What recipe do you use..and do you have it in a "hot spot" to keep the bottle near high 70's low 80's?

I am using 3/4 tsp of yeast, 3 cups of sugar, and 2L of water. *I think room temperature here in California keeps the bottle fairly warm. *I see pearling in my tank but also blue green algae, brown algae, and hair algae. *I have it all but it's slowing coming down with the otos (brown algae). * With the blue green algae, I having some trouble because there is no surface movement and lots of scum in the surface and I notice the BGA loves this. *I need to make myself a skimmer or overflow box to get rid of this crud. *With the hair algae, I put in some amano shrimp but I see no difference yet in the growth of hair algae. *I guess I will look for a florida flag fish tomorrow for that. *I think I will make another 2L because my pH hardly budges at all with the tap water here in California with a pH of 8.0-8.2, and a high KH. *

try a
1/4 tsp and 2 cups of sugar.
Only fill the bottle just past the label, where it starts to curve.

What is your lighting?

What are your nitrates?

Is your tank heavely planted?

What do you do for circulation?(powerheads/filters?)
