Default Breeding Bettas

I decided i want to try and breed some Bettas. How will i keep a male and female in my 20gal without the male killing the female? I was thinking of getting a clear divider so they can see each other and hopefully the male will make a bubblenest. What should i do if they have eggs? I know i have to take the female out but how long should i keep the male in the tank with the fry? Any info i can get will be great!!!
