My bettas <3 their 10G home. I have two living together merrily (though sadly my male seems to have hit 'old age' and I fear is not terribly long for the world) )

While I know you'd probably like to avoid neons again, there's plenty of small schooling fish that make excellent tank mates for bettas too.

Personally I found the dwarf frogs to be frusterating and boring as heck. Also shockingly diffecult to keep alive.
