I don't remember the exact information I was looking for, but it was though the mighty google. I think it might have been on my first attempt on a planted tank. I had already read some other fish forums, and when I found this one I was blown away by how friendly everyone was to people who didn't have a clue (like me).
And like some of the others have mentiond, I always liked the fact that there wasn't a bunch of over bearing moderator staff running around the place telling people what to do. Back in the day there was just Arcab, and the mysterious "ModeratorFish". And I really hope that for the most part that the staff today still isn't over bearing or pushy and people feel that they can do what they want to (with in reason of course
) without fear of some retribution. I've seen forums, both fish and other, where it feels like people are scared to say anything negative about the site or anyone else, or even anything that might not be thought of to be 'normal' conversation material.
I think it's things that everyone has mentioned in this thread that has made MFT so great throughout the years.
