I've done several SW to FW conversions (and vise/versa). Like FishGeek stated. Just clean the tank like you would any used item. Super easy, no need to use the sump/bioballs etc, if you didn't want to. I use bioballs, sponges etc when I want nitrates to build up a bit to supply FW planted tanks to feed the plants.

Clean/rinse .. is all there is too it.
