I finally tried giving my albino cory algae wafers again- just a fourth of a wafer. The next morning there was no trace of it left, haha. I tried again and got up earlier the next morning and was lucky enough to see him snacking on the very small remains of the wafer.

He was eating only shrimp pellets before.

EDIT- I am VERY jealous that you have been able to save $500 for your new tank!
